Introducing the Advanced Materials and Sensing Group within the Ph.D. Program in Innovative Science and Technology (IST), Walailak University
Our group brings together expertise across advanced materials, sensing science, rubber and polymer technology, and bioactive natural products discovery to address real-world challenges in health, environment, food, and sustainable materials.
Our research strengths include:
• Rubber & Polymer Technology – Asst. Prof. Dr. Wisut Kaewsakul
Focuses on greener elastomer technology, smart elastomers, rubber reinforcement, and sustainable solutions to reduce microplastics and particulate emissions.
• Sensing – Dr. Sakda Jampasa
Specializes in advanced electrochemical sensors, lateral flow electrochemical/optical assays for environmental and pathogen monitoring.
• Sensing – Dr. Nutthaporn Malahom
Research focuses on optical sensing platforms, microfluidic paper-based analytical devices, and functional nanocomposites for environmental monitoring, food analysis, and diagnostic applications
• Advanced Materials – Dr. Rungthip Kunthom
Develops organic–inorganic hybrid materials and advanced nanostructures for applications in catalysis, sensing, environmental remediation, separation, water treatment, and biomedical applications.
• Bioactive Natural Products Discovery – Dr. Passakorn Teerapongpisarn
Explores natural product chemistry, phytochemical investigation, plant-derived bioactive compounds, and discovery of anti-diabetic and anti-inflammatory agents.
